was probably taken while some repairs were being taken care of on the Kawishiwi. A crew member from the USS Hassayampa AO-145, Wally
Bennett, remembers this time period because The Hass helped to keep the
replenishments going when Kawishiwi
was unable to. He remembers that on starting his 72-73 cruise he had
to help take on "stores". Funny thing about that was, they put a
fifty pound bag of potato's on his shoulders & up the
gang-way he went and over-board the potato's went, right off the
gang-way,.... SPLASH - SWISH - GURGLE - GURGLE, surprisingly the Navy
didn't hit his pay up.
