It is a genuine privilege and a distinct
pleasure for me to join a fine ship as KAWISHIWI. In my first few days
on board it became readily apparent that she is not refered to as a
"gold plater" without good reason. As a modern Fleet unit KAWISHIWI has
a tremendous capability for service. the enviable reputation she has
built attests amply to the fact that that capability has been
demostrated again and again, on a continuing basis. Not only am I happy
to be aboard, but in becoming a member of the ship's company of
KAWISHIWI, the pleasure is mine.
