ERKILA, GEORGE L. (LITTLE TEX, REB, SHORTY) (62-64) – George was a FN/MM3 aboard the AKS-4. He served in the Navy from July 1962 until July 1986 and retired as a MMC. He and his wife Joan reside at 1733 Paine Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32211-5368, PH: 904-744-9691, email: GLERKILA@AOL.COM. His other duty stations consisted of Sub School, New London; USS ALLAGASH (AO-97); USS ARCO (ARD-29); USS PROTEUS (AS-19); USS KAWISHIWI (AO-146); USS PARSONS (DDG-33) and USS SAVANNAH (AOR-4). He indicated on his BIO Form that he is still turning wrenches and has been working Nuclear Power Plant Shutdowns for Newport Industrial Corporation since September 1986. He and Joan have four grandchildren from Joan’s two children. He would like to locate Joseph E. Saccamago (Sachamaggo) who was a FN aboard the POLLUX and may be living in the Philadelphia/Pittsburgh area. George signed up as a PRA member and said he would attend the next reunion.
